    FETBO is a simple but powerful tool I teach in the Boss Yourself First community and in Three Permissions. It helps you pause and notice what’s really happening when life gets intense. The letters stand for:

    • Facts – What is objectively true in this situation?
    • Emotions – What feelings are present? (No judgment, just naming them.)
    • Thoughts – What beliefs or stories are running through your mind?
    • Behaviors – How are you acting, or tempted to act, because of those thoughts and feelings?
    • Outcomes – What results are you getting, or could get, if you continue on this path?

    FETBO gives you a framework to shift from autopilot to awareness. Instead of being swept up by stress or self-doubt, you can step back, sort what’s going on, and choose how to respond.

    It’s one of the most practical ways to practice self-leadership - taking charge of your inner world so you can show up with clarity, courage, and compassion in the outer one.
